Creating a safe environment for children

We understand hospitals can be a scary place for children, so we work hard to create a safe, healing environment for kids. Animal-themed pediatric units may offer comfort and familiarity to children, easing their fears. The pediatric units feature a playroom where children can feel safe and comfortable while taking a needed break from their treatment schedule.

Our hospital also has full-time child life specialists who provide therapeutic play and developmentally appropriate activities for patients, reducing the stress of hospitalization and providing support to patients and their families.

Children may also require a special test or treatment, which can add to the fear they may be feeling. We want them to feel safe, so at Brandon Regional Hospital we have added separate rooms where children can be transferred for any specialized treatment their condition may require. Afterwards, they can return to the cozy familiarity of their room.

Compassionate pediatric care close to home

No one wants to visit the hospital, but our doctors, nurses and other staff are committed to make you and your child as comfortable as possible while you are under our roof.
