Brandon Regional Hospital Women’s Center:  Improving the Delivery of Care

Brandon, FL - Brandon Regional Hospital Women’s Center will be renovating and centralizing many of our women’s services to better serve our patients, families and physicians.  Renovations begin in October with site preparation currently taking place.

“We are very pleased to be moving forward with the second phase of this project as it will continue to enhance the integration of all women’s services offered at BRH,” states Mike Fencel, Chief Executive Officer.

Delivery of care will be improved with renovations taking place on the first and second floors of the Women’s Center.  The second floor rooms will be designed for gynecology patients and expectant mothers who are admitted prior to the delivery of their child.

The renovations taking place on the first floor include moving ultrasound from its current location by The Emergency Center to the Women’s Center, expanding the waiting area, designing a new entry and expanding the expectant mothers drop off area to include a larger canopy.

The renovation and construction preparation will began the week of September 27th with an anticipated project completion date of April 2011.  There will be slight inconveniences to our patients and their family members but all measures will be taken to limit those inconveniences.  Expectant mothers will have a designated drop off point at the entrance of the Women’s Center during renovations but visitors will be asked to park in the main parking garage (south garage) located at the main entrance of Brandon Regional Hospital.
“Although we may temporarily cause some inconveniences to our patients and their families,” says Fencel, “putting women’s services in one location allows women a dedicated entrance for a variety of services and allows our specialty trained staff and physicians to practice in one location, improving the delivery of care to our obstetrical and gynecology patients.”
