Brandon, FL – Brandon Regional Hospital, an HCA West Florida hospital, was recently named among the 2014 Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals®. The award recognizes hospitals that provide national benchmark performance for value and effective care in their communities.
Winners are identified from nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals, using objective research and independent public data. Each is evaluated on organizational performance measures including patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability. Six Florida facilities, including Brandon Regional Hospital, received the honor.
According to Truven, those recognized are “more likely to have systems to safeguard patients from medial errors, provide treatments proven to get results and deliver effective care at a reasonable cost.” Additionally, the award cited Brandon Regional Hospital’s status as a financially stable employer with high scores in patient perception of care. “Brandon Regional Hospital is proud to be counted among the nation’s top hospitals,” said the hospital’s CEO, Bland Eng. “This award reflects our commitment to serving our patients and community with compassion and excellence.” Awards will be presented in June at a ceremony in Scottsdale, Arizona. Meanwhile, winners will appear in the print edition of Modern Healthcare magazine and online at www.100tophospitals.com and www.modernhealthcare.com.
