The Duke Activity Status Index (DASI) is a 12-item questionnaire that utilizes self-reported physical work capacity to estimate peak metabolic equivalents (METs) and has been shown to be a valid measurement of functional capacity. DASI scores are measured in metabolic equivalents (METs). One MET equals the approximate rate of O² consumption of a seated individual at rest. MET levels are often used in a clinical environment, such as cardiac rehabilitation, to indicate metabolic response to exercise.
