Statements and Other Correspondence After Discharge
A final itemized statement of charges will be mailed to you seven to 10 days after discharge for both mother and baby. Billings will be submitted to your insurance company at the same time.
Managed Care Plans
If your maternity stay is going to be covered by a managed care plan, we encourage you to contact your plan directly to learn what your benefits are. Brandon Regional Hospital accepts all major plans, but plan benefits vary. If you are on a plan in which the hospital does not appear to be contracted with, please contact our Maternity Admissions Office directly.
Maternity Discount Program
The hospital offers a maternity Discount Program which is designed to assist expectant parents who do not have maternity insurance benefits. The discount is offered when an expectant mother has an uncomplicated vaginal delivery and hospital stay. The discount rate includes a semi-private room and all other charges are incurred for the uncomplicated vaginal delivery, for both the mother and the well-born baby with an uncomplicated hospital stay. To qualify, the flat rate must be paid in full by the eighth month of pregnancy. For more information, please call our Maternity Admissions Office.
Separate Billings for Physicians' Service
Patients will receive separate billings for professional services which are performed by any of the following physicians:
- Anesthesiologist (administers anesthesia during delivery)
- Neonatologist (if admitted to NICU)
- Pathologist (interprets laboratory tests)
- Radiologist (interprets x-rays and sonograms)
Please remember that these physicians' offices and their billing procedures are entirely separate from the hospital.
