Brandon Hospital Auxiliary’s Commitment to the Community

BRANDON – (December 16, 2010) - - Brandon Hospital Auxiliary demonstrated their commitment to our community by raising  $7,000 for Brandon Outreach Clinic.

“Our Auxiliary is happy to be able to raise the funds to help Brandon Outreach Clinic,” states Lee Novak, President, Brandon Hospital Auxiliary.  “Receiving medical care has become more difficult, especially in these economic times.  We hope that even the littlest donation will benefit those in need.”

The mission of Brandon Outreach Clinic is to provide primary and diagnostic health care to individuals and families who are unable to afford adequate care due to financial reasons.  “Brandon Outreach Clinic is extremely grateful for the generous support that was received from the Brandon Hospital Auxiliary,” expresses Debbie Meegan, Executive Director, Brandon Outreach Clinic.  “The mission of the clinic is to provide health care to uninsured individuals in our community who cannot afford health care. The clinic relies on volunteers and donations from local community organizations like Brandon Hospital Auxiliary to achieve this mission.”

Last year, the clinic spent over $60,000 on medications for its patients.  “These medications treat chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiac disorder, and many, many more,” explains Meegan.  “Our volunteer providers like Dr. Stephen D. Parks and Dr. Pat Jeansonne, realized over 20 years ago that life can turn out very different for those who have no insurance and they wanted to make a difference. The Brandon Hospital Auxiliary has been instrumental every year in helping us make a difference by saving lives and helping make our community a healthier and more productive place to live.”
